Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris was born on the 20th of October 1964. She is an American politician. Harris is the first female vice president and the highest-ranking female official in U.S. History, as being the first African American and second Asian American vice president. She is a member and former US senator representing California. Harris was born and raised in Oakland, California. Harris started her career at the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. She was then recruited to San Francisco District Attorney's Office. In 2003 she was elected district attorney of San Francisco. Harris was elected Attorney General of California in 2010 and elected again in 2014. Harris was the United States junior senator from California, from 2017 to 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Sanchez in the 2016 Senate election, becoming the second African American woman and the first South Asian American to serve in the United States Senate. As a senator , she supported health reform, federal descheduling of cannabis, a pathway for undocumented immigrants to become citizens and the DREAM Act and a ban on assault weapons. She also supported progressive tax reform. Her sharp questioning of Trump officials in Senate hearings has garnered the attention of the nation, which included the second Supreme Court nominee, Brett Kavanaugh who was indicted with sexual assault.
