Catherine Anne
Catherine Anne O'Hara OC (born on March 4, 1954)is a Canadian-American actress as well as a comedian and writer. O'Hara has won numerous awards which include the Genie Award (a Golden Globe Award), two Screen Actors Guild Awards and two Primetime Emmy Awards. In addition, O'Hara was awarded six Canadian Screen Awards. In 2018, she was named to the rank of an Officer of Canada. She was also presented with the Governor General’s Performing Arts Lifetime Artistic Achievement Medal in 2020. O'Hara first became known as an actress in 1974, while she was a part of The Second City in Toronto. Together with John Candy and Dan Aykroyd, she was part the main team of the sitcom Coming Up Rosie (1975-1978). O'Hara, Candy, and Dan Aykroyd began work in Second City Television's sketch comedy program (1976-1984). O'Hara received critical acclaim for her comedic writing and acting skills which earned her an Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Writer for a Variety Series in 1982. O'Hara was appointed to the Second City artistic advisory panel in 2022 by Stephen Colbert.
